The Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II (or Altare della Patria) is a monument to honour Vittorio Emanuele II the first king of the unified Italy and is located in Piazza Venezia. Built in 19th and 20th centuries at the base of the Capitoline Hill it`s 135 metres wide and 70 metres high.
